Not much to update about this week. I’m 3/4 of the way through my midterms, and they’ve gone swimmingly despite a total study time of no more than 30 minutes. That’s because they’re easy. Our Literature class, for instance, required that we choose two of seven questions, and answer each in 150 words or less. With open books and notes. And we were given an hour and a half.

Yeah, uChicago is going to kick my ass when I get back, especially because there are four classes I want to take, I need to find a summer job, and I want a job for the school-year to recoup some of the debt I’ve dug myself into since coming to Europe.

Tomorrow is my last final, it’s oral, and it requires that I use a lot of the colloquial vocab we’ve learned. The only problem is that I haven’t studied at all yet, and don’t really know any of the vocab. Sure, I’m a little nervous, but it’ll only be 15 minutes of pain then I’m free for the weekend. A bunch of us are going to “hacer botellón” in Toledo this weekend, which means we’re going to go get drunk in a park with a bunch of young Spaniards. I’m excited for it. I’m also considering popping up to Madrid for a day trip, maybe to see some museums or something, but no firm plans as of yet.

Other than that, the daily routine continues. I’ve come home for dinner borderline drunk every night this week. Wait, pretty much every night since I got here. I can’t help myself, it’s so cheap and I have nothing better to be doing after class. In other news, I’ve started watching The Office (American version), and can’t get enough of it. Downloading some more episodes from the lovely iTMS as we speak. I highly recommend it, but I think I could only enjoy it alone. I’d be far too critical if I watched it with other people, because it is very painful at times. Therein lies its beauty, though.

Can’t believe I’ll be 21 in less than a week.
