Yesterday, as per tradition, the immediate family gathered after Sam got back from work for a tasty prime rib dinner. After John and I did the dishes, we moved to the family room and gifts were passed out. I got some nice stuff; my favorite gifts were cash, a knife and cutting board set, a cast-iron skillet, the 75th anniversary Joy of Cooking, and Monkey Ball, a Wii game. Damn, how old am I? My favorite gifts are primarily utilitarian? At any rate, I plan to hold on to the nice kitchen stuff for a few months, so as to maximize its service life. Unsurprisingly, after the family crashed for the night, Kate came over for debauchery fueled by beer I got for Christmas.
Today, I’ve lazed around most of the day; I’ve started organizing stuff for the drive back to Chicago (when I came home before going to Spain, I brought quite a lot of stuff with the intention of narrowing my packing list down, which I did; my room has a lot of crap in it right now). Also watched some TV with the family, made a late lunch, and implemented a weighted list of categories on any category page. Exciting times.
Tomorrow, we’re off to Orlando at nine in the morning. Expect possible updates from there; we’ll be at an outpost of the parents’ timeshare, which are often equipped with wireless.
That’s all from the home front. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Nice categories, though one of them should be “drunk.” Can’t wait to try out the new Wii game, I’m fucking deprived after almost 2 weeks without it. Hope Florida is going well, adios =)

And the room has wireless internet. Very sweet. Too bad Florida is ass cold.
