Pins, Needles, and Turkey

Danny and I spent the last three days in Ohio to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. It was less awkward than expected, thanks in large part to somewhat copious consumption of alcohol. The highlights included: cats old and new; Wii (with my parents especially); my mom grunting like a Williams sister playing Wii tennis; teaching my dad how to do things on his new/first Mac; seeing Kate several times; power hour with Danny, my brother and Kate; drunken bowling with Danny, Kate and Krystie; free trip to Target with my mom; and especially the roughly 20 pounds I put on eating a ton of good food.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed, but I’m rather confidently expecting an exciting phone call in the next few days. You’ll read about it here first.

So. Comments have returned (and all old comments are visible again; fret not). Truthfully, I always had the intention of bringing them back. I was just too lazy after the drastic makeover to figure them out (it takes as long to change them as it does the rest of the site). Saying that I was “turning them off for a while” allowed me to add them back at my leisure. It didn’t feel like my website without them, though, and a sizable outcry suggests everyone else missed them, too. Bring ‘em on.

Other changes will be forthcoming as I find time and interest–notably some degree of graphical flare. I’m aware of how spare this design is right now. I rolled it out hastily because I decided I was tired of the base of css I was working from in the previous iterations. This sucker is from a brand-spankin’ new stylesheet, and it’ll take a while to get somatablet exactly where I want. Kindly give it some time.

You can also expect the Archives section of this site to expand back in time. Although I’ve lost all of the posts from my previous blog, cuppaurlgrey, I have all the posts from my first weblog, riorubicon. It includes entries from June 2003 to May 2004, aka my senior year of high school. Very entertaining stuff, I assure you.

Somehow I have just six more days of obligatory campus attendance this quarter (spread out over the next two weeks). 2008 is around the corner.
